SELVI
GJ staggers home, apparently in pain. His father rushes to his side, and he collapses. Tamarai sees this and concludes this is one more act. Then he vomits blood and is rushed mto hospital. The doctor comes out of the emergency room and tells his waiting father he has been poisoned. The father immediately taxes Tamarai with the sin of having driven her husband to suicide. Tamarai is overcome with remorse. She promises GJ, as he comes to consciousness that all is forgotten, and seeks his forgiveness. Andavan and Co., who are present, are delighted. Tamarai's own parents are dubious. malar phones her mother saying GJ has swallowed poison. Mother tells Madhu, who makes her usually flippant remark. Selvi enters. Hears about GJ. Is shocked. She turns to go and see GJ at the hospital. The others dissuade her. As she turns, she finds Tamarai's father entering her house. He tells her GJ has played this game of taking enough poison to get sick so that he can get back in Tamarai's life. No need for her to by sympathetic, says he.
In the hospital, GJ slowly realizes what has happened. He decides to use this opportunity to draw maximum sympathy, andreserve his revenge for Maya, who, he now knows, has tried to kill him.

PENN
Bharani is giving some medicines to his mother. She is fast asleep. He slips into her ante-room and rifles through her cupboard, looking at various papers. He finally extracts one, and leaves. Later, when Ranganayaki does not get up the following morning, kasi, Kailash and Deepa enter, trying to wake her up. Deepa discovers this is really serious, and they rush her to hospital. The doctor says she has been administered some wrong medicine. Meanwhile, Chitra discovers a medicine vial next to Ranga's bed, and thinks this is Bharani's doing. For some reason she thinks this is some medicine he has carried into the room for aborting someone else's pregnancy. Only upon discovering Ranga's condition does she realize Bharani has given her medicine. Meanwhile, Swati and others blame Deepa, who is the one who has been giving mediciens to Ranganayaki. Bharani volunteers a lie of his own to address Chitra's suspicion, saying he gave his mother the usual medicine. RAnga says she herself took the medicine. (The show is becoming more and more uninteresting as they waste time in such trivia)
Later Ranga tells Chitra it was Bharani who gave her the medicine.
The doctor wonders how Ranga made it to the hospital. Swati says Deepa gave her an injection along the way. Doctor asks Deepa what she gave. She mentions a medical term. He asks if she is a doctor. She says no, she just knows something about these medicines. He is suspcious.
