ANANDAM     4th May
uma and her father  break down and cry. Both think of the splendid times they have had Each utterance of her father  takes a new meaning to Uma. She resolved to  stay by his side all the time. Shyam calls and is given the sad news of her father's illness. He promises to come home as soon as the business is done at RK s place everybody is sad at Laxman's sickness. They want to visit and cheer him. Shanthi advises that instead they should work towards arranging Uma and Shyam's wedding so that he will have the satisfaction of performing the marriage Sreenivasan visits Abhirami along with the cheif person of their building project. He says Shyam's signature is needed to proceed further. Sreenivasan is upset that Abhirami had included her brother's name in the property deal. He asks her to  talk to her brother He says he will leave her after marriage. She says she will not allow hitm to leave. At the memorial for the dead children decorations and preparations are over. Govidan watches the orphan children from an asham light a candle each. As he was thinking of
his son he sees the son light a candle He is stunned.
MALARGAL    
Shanmugam visits his fater in law's house Sivakami welcomes him and says she will come and ask  pardon as his mother is angry with them. He says he respects and loves this family. She need not come and talk with his mother  just leave it to him clear things. He is saddened by the events rthat had taken place since his last visit. He is angry with them for not informing him. He has a talk with Tulasi and he asks her to be her normal self not to be intimidated by his mother. He promises to take her to Chennai for special treatment so that they can have their child. As he was having a wash Bhasker enters by the back door. Shanmukam consoles him and brings him inside the houe and the mother becomes. emotional Mallika refuses to go to her inlaws's house after all the harsh words spoken. Her father's advice for patience in this hard times in the family don't appeal to her her father
gives her support to do as se wishes.

KOLANGAL
Thols and Uma admit the mother in the hospital. Ganga comes and finding Thols is furious she  asks him what business has he in her family to come and offer all this service. He must have some motive. Thols calls her aside and reminds her what is needed is a kind word to her mother. She says she has seen a mean world and reacts this way beacause of the hard times she has been through. Anu is shown all the glittering jewellery for her engagement. She complains of head ache. Grandmother advises her she must be happy as Aditya
and Kanchana love her so much. They will be sad if she behaves this way. Anu tries calling Mano. The mother picks up the phone and orders her not to call her son. Their marriage cannot take place she will not allow it so she should get married to the Bombay boy and leave her son alone.

SELVI
Tamarai thanks Amar for suggesting to confront Selvi Andavan and Kathan flatter Tamarai so that she is ready to do as they wish. Andavan asks her to make Maya agree to marry  Dilipan. With Dilipan in their clutch they can ruin Selvi. Tamarai has a chat with Maya and Maya not only agrees but says separately to Amar she will lead him to the mandap and reject him. They have a meeting.   Dilipan is present. He is told of May's consent to the wedding.  Tamarai asks Dilipan to accompany her to meet  a VIP. He declines but Tamarai makes him accompany her. Andavan asks who the VIP is, but she says she will tell him later. In the car he asks who the person was. As she did not reveal he said she is taking him to Selvi's house. Tamarai is surprised and praises him for his sharpness. He tells her her that  way is  all wrong.  What pleasure she gains in taunting and abusing Selvi?  Tamarai says she will take her revenge. She says to herself  She wants find out the relationship between Selvi and Dilipan.

PENN
After Senthil's dad makes a reference to idlers who eat off their wives, Kumar is totally shell-shocked and drags Mohini back to his home, ignoring the please of her parents in law. However, Uma does not believe her stories and promises that she really had an accident. She thinks she and her dad planned the whole thing. Mohini swears upon everybody and claims it was an accident. Her father also backs her up. Finally Uma seems to believe her. At Senthil's parents' home,  his father suspects something is wrong with Mohini. Senthil returns from office. His mother slowly tells him what happened in the morning, and that her father took her away.M
