KOLANGAL
Ganga continues with her story, how her father ignored and belittled her, keeping her away from home, at a boarding school. A male schoolteacher misbehaves with her, and she slaps him. Instead of getting angry with the teacher, her father gets angry with her. She says she has always been independent, she now loves Tolkappian, but she wants to do so without losing her independence. How this is possible is in his hands.

GJ banters witht the other kaidi in his cell. Tamarai, Rombatoomuch and Tamarai's brother come to the station. As they are talking with GJ, Amar arrives, fuming, insisting to see GJ right away. Velu tries to stop him, but Clouseau says, let him go, and watch the drama. He goes and accuses GJ of cheating him (no talk of 'where have you kept my father', by the way). Tamarai protests. Amar says she doesn't know what kind of a man he is. A scuffle erupts between Tamarai's brother and Amar. They are all asked to leave by Clouseau. Tamarai promises GJ that she believes him. GJ is silent throughout. Clouseau expresses his wonderment at his composure.
At Niranjan's home, Ceylon Mani starts hearing gurgling water again (Sun TV's indication of dizziness) and faints. Niranjan comes, picks her up and tries to rush her to hospital.
Amar runs into Pasupathi, who has been searching for honest work without any success (people are willing to hire him for bad things, but not for a regular job). Jaw-to-Jaw confrontation, but no fighting.

Ranga continues...
Badri had to leave for Dubai shortly, so he and I got secretly married at the registrar's office (the board says Register), witnesses Kasi and Kala. As soon as we returned to my mother's place, Badri left to arrange for a rental place for us, and also to check on his Dubai visa. While he and Kasi were away, my father sent his men (the men ask for Badri, showing they know about him, yet no one suspects anything between him and Ranga). They grabbed me and took me back to my father's place. Father did not know of the marriage. There, my brother in law was asking my father to set up a separate home for himself and his family.Sister was crying, and trying to please Bharani, the kid who was in her arms. FAther talked insultingly to him, and said his daughter was not going to any hovel. Meanwhile, Kasi came in and asked me to come out to meet some friends. It was Kala and Badri. Badri was leaving tomorrow to Dubai. He promised to come back in two years with plenty of money, so he could get my father's approval. I said I was very fearful, what if he tried to arrange a match for me? In that case, said Badri, make a phone call to me, and I'll come and get you.
Badri is shown leaving...
