KOLANGAL
Tiruvengadam is taken to some isolated place, where the cop demands 40 lakh rupees to persuade the Andhra police to drop the case. He denies wrongdoing, and threatens to expose their demands, but cop tells him that would be against his interests. He wavers.
Anandi goes to Bharati's house, and sees Bharati's parents lovingly taking care of Karthik. She is touched. Thanks Bharati, when he says after all, he is a friend of hers. She tells Bharati is he is more than a friend.

SELVI
Selvi arrives at Pandian's house. Pandian comes down the steps, called by his daughter (Praba's friend). She demands to know where Anadvan and Karthan are. Pandian is taken aback by her fearlessness. He says she should keep out of this. She says, why then did you get in the middle of something that didn't concern you? Do you have an enmity with Andavan or Karthan? He says: No....Did you have a grudge against Dileepan, who is facing a kidnapping charge? No... Then why? Because I was paid, he says. Who paid you? He says sorry, no fishing outside the off stump. She leaves, saying the day will come when he will be made to stand where he deserves to stand. Before that, he has given his reasons for his criminal life, society, police, politicians...
Praba meets his girl friend (what's her name, the tongue clicker). Some mush about friends for ever, romance if it arises.
GJ is summoned by Pandian (who acts as Pandian?) and asked who Selvi is. He says, finally, she is my wife. Pandian laughs. You can't control your wife? Previously, Deepa finishes her story. Ranga hears her and gets all upset. She tells Deepa to take revenge, but right now, go home and rest. After sending her away, she calls Kailash and says, what should we do, this is our Akash. We never knew he was so bad. But, she adds, we should not allow sentiment to interfere, and side always with Deepa. She tapes a message for Kala in the event of her death during the forthcoming surgery, and gives it to Kailash.
Kailash's father is shunning him. He says forget it, I am only going to marry Deepa, don't try to foist this Poongadi on me. Father is adamant.
Solai goes to visit Dr. Sivaraman, and offers any amount of money for Ranga's recovery. Sivaraman asks who he is. He says I am her son. Sivaraman is taken aback. He explains he is one of those numerous orphans who have benefited from Ranga's charity. Sivaraman sends him off with thanks. Outside, he crosses Badri, who knows he has seen him and heard his voice before, but isn't able to place him.
Mohini visits Solai's office and pays off part of the loan. Solai is there, and lets loose some dialogue about a parched man seeing an oasis. She says she is more than an oasis. Solai is delighted.
